ALL IS BRIGHT by Nancy Guthrie. Illustrated by Lizzie Preston

all-is-bright

Thanks to Tyndale Publishing for the complimentary copy

First off, let me say that I was not expecting to be so engrossed in the coloring pages of this book. Each page has a devotion for the day written by the author, with an accompanying coloring page by the illustrator. There is also a set of “child friendly” coloring pages (bigger pictures with less detail) and activities/discussions for your family.

My son and I are “sharing” this book as I told him he could have all the kid pages in the back, but I’m reserving the adult pages for myself as part of my Advent study with SheReadsTruth, which I use every Advent season.

I absolutely love this book. It is quickly becoming my favorite way to end the night, with a simple way to slow down after the daily bustle. The devotions are surprisingly in depth  and thought provoking but still a quick read. I’m looking forward to the remainder of the devotions and coloring pages, which will take me to the New Year. Now if only my children hadn’t demolished the majority of my colored pencils….

PS As an added bonus, I also got a complimentary copy of stickers with various Scriptures to color. It was a very nice surprise, but quite more time is required as the pictures are considerably smaller. Definitely make sure you have SHARP colored pencils for that project.
